Featuring meticulous hand distressing and my signature hidden patchwork, Decay delves into the natural processes of wear, demonstrating my personal vision of beauty in the signs of age.

I was walking along a creek near my home one day when I saw an old aluminum can sitting between the rocks, the surrounding scene was very picturesque, small plants rose above the water as rocks created a frame around the can. The degradation of the object was nearly lifelike; this aluminum can, a sterile stranger to nature, was able to take on the same form as the rocks around it. Corrosion induced by the flowing water over top of it had, with time, peeled away whatever sort of print may have existed there prior, and slowly gave it the same colors of brown and green that sat in the sediment. - the intricacy of detail on the can was very intriguing, it had a very beautiful texture with so much depth.

I have been very interested with the processes of wear and decay since that day, I see it to be equivalent to the process an artist takes in creating a piece, except in the case of wear, the artist and the art are one in the same. The timeliness of an object, much like this aluminum can, is able to tell an extremely unique story when one stops to examine it, however, I feel as if these details generally go unappreciated and neglected.

My goal with Decay is to be able to highlight the beauty I see within these processes of time by translating them into fashion.
